為慶祝世界水資源日，AIT想跟大家介紹美台在水資源領域多年的合作。過去30多年來，美台在諸多水資源議題都有技術上的密切合作，包括水資源管理、水壩設計和建造、水庫防淤及清淤、地下水控制措施、防洪、海洋氣候變遷和透過人造衛星監控海洋油汙擴散及海洋廢棄物堆積等。2020年11月，我們透過「全球合作暨訓練架構（GCTF）運用循環經濟模式處理海洋廢棄物」線上國際研討會，將美台雙邊長期以來的環境合作，拓展成多邊合作的架構，與多國夥伴共同應對日漸嚴峻的海洋及廢棄物議題。氣候變遷所造成的水患和乾旱及海洋垃圾的問題都加劇了全球水資源的危機，這場危機有賴全球夥伴共同應對。在台灣面臨56年來最大乾旱之際，讓我們一起擔任環保尖兵，共同守護珍貴的水資源和環境！#世界水資源日 #拯救水資源 #對抗氣候變遷 #共同努力共同得益
In honor of World Water Day, AIT would like to highlight U.S.-Taiwan water cooperation. For over thirty years, the United States and Taiwan have shared technical cooperation on water issues, ranging from water resources management, dam design and construction, reservoir sedimentation and sluicing, underground water control measures, flood prevention, ocean climate change, and satellite-based monitoring for marine oil spills and marine debris. Last November 2020, our GCTF workshop on sustainable materials management solutions to marine debris expanded our long-standing environmental cooperation to a multilateral framework to address the growing ocean and waste issues facing the earth. We know that it takes a global effort to address the marine debris and climate change impacts, which have severely compounded the world's water systems through more flooding and droughts.
